Eliza's Cottage
Historic National, State and Shire Heritage listed property. The 1840's cottage in the Blandstown precinct is suitable for couples, or families interested in the history of the area.. Restoration of the property is a work in progress; a large tree has lifted some tiles in the kitchen and the bricked area outside the East door these will be replaced as soon as possible. A file on the kitchen table offers instruction for gas heater and gas bottles and the history of the cottage. Check in 2pm:check out 10am. We offer a cleaning and linen service.
Built by Henry Revett Bland it is one of the first buildings in the area situated 5 minutes walk from town. The rustic workers cottage is set on a large block in a peaceful rural setting including an olive grove. Children are welcome but the property is not fully fenced and Bland Brook flows through the property in winter.Please note the core rooms of the cottage were built of mud in 1840,179 years ago, and has National historic value, the two front bedrooms were added in 1870 and the addition at the back was in 1970. It is an old and valuable building but offers only basic accommodation. Of interest to lovers of Western Australian History.The Cottage is used by family and friends on a regular basis
