Gecko Lodge
At the base of Mount Bakewell.
Come and enjoy a stay at the Merigan's country property in a fully self-contained two bedroom lodge located just five minutes from the town centre.
The lodge sleeps up to five people and has been furnished and decorated throughout. The master bedroom has a new bed and the second bedroom has bunk beds and a trundle.
It is adjunct to a large country house, and is completely separate with it's own carport and outdoor area.
The kitchen is well equipped; you can bake a cake and cook a roast dinner and we provide the little things to make your stay more pleasant including serviettes, salt and pepper, tomato and barbecue sauce and complimentary tea and coffee facilities, including plunger coffee and biscuits.
There is an outdoor area with a brick/gas barbecue and table offering sweeping views of the native surrounds up to Mount Bakewell.
The property has a flock of sheep and there is a resident dog, and there are free range chickens - you can purchase eggs if you require.

There is nothing better than a view of the night sky from York. We can provide a star gazing evening for guests at a cost of $50 for an hours star gazing. Your host will show you a selection of stars and galaxies through a high powered telescope. Other sights can be seen through the naked eye include satellites, the space station and iridium flares. Bookings are a must and it is subject to fine weather.
